Astra bioplant LTD project has been started since 2007.The company has built a modern biodiesel plant with a capacity of 60 000 mt, which has started operations in the beginning of 2009.
Strategically located on the Danube, at the border with Romania, so that the production can be easily delivered to domestic and Romanian clients as well as exported via the Danube River to Western European destinations. The plant is situated 5 km away from the river Danube, 9 km away from its own private port and 20 km east of the town of Ruse. The own port of the company is equipped for handling of liquid and bulk cargoes and with a railway terminal.
The plant is also located in a region of grain oil-bearing cultures which can fully provide the required raw materials for the operations. The company has signed contracts with the local producers for the required raw materials.
The plant is designed and built in line with all EC regulations and requirements. Its construction completed in late 2008 and operations commenced in the beginning of 2009.

As part of the holding company, the owners have an agricultural firm which is a major regional player in storing and trading of oil-bearing cultures.
Closed cycle of production (except own land) which allows good profit.
The company has its own railway transport means and license for railway transportation for Europe.
Company has own trucks (cisterns gondola-trucks for grain).
The plant is built on 5.1 hectares of own land.
